London based but born in Treviso, a small city near Venice (Italy), Marco has been involved in the local underground club scene since he was 15, as a promoter and then as a DJ.
After travelling to London to gain his MA in Fashion at St Martin’s, he became involved in London’s clubbing scene as a DJ including a residency at the legendary Süd Electronic parties. He also ran his own Techno party – a popular Sunday afternoon/evening session at Cafe 1001.
Owing to his more visual background, Marco considers his musical style to be constructed with an aesthetic approach. He has been deeply inspired by
Detroit Techno and electro, acid house, New York deep house and garage
and electronica.
His own productions are usually very deep and dark and often tend to have strong percussive elements with dry electronic sounds and groovy basslines.
His first proper release ‘Dontlaughatme’ on Serialism records in 2008 gained him attention. Following a couple of split EP appearances, his next release came out in January 2009 on the London-based label brut!
More recently still, in January of 2011, his latest EP, ‘The Vox Attitude’ was released on the Swedish label Vidd, distributed by clone, and received strong positive reactions and widespread chart positions from the likes of Morphosis, Steffi, Efdemin and more.
2012 saw a very deep release on Clone S.O.S (acebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fclone.nl%2Fitem22320.html&h=PAQFUTG2s&s=1" target="_blank">clone.nl/item22320.html) and the launch of his own label EERIE records (again championed by clone) with the first release by himself the “Modula” ep (Eerie-records – Marco-shuttle-modula-ep-ee01) out in june 2012 followed by 3 more releases among which was the “There’s no point…That’s the point” ep (soundcloud.com/eerie-records/sets/theres-no-point-thats-the-1) also a reissue of the anthemic track “The Vox Attitude” with excellent remixes from Joey Anderson and Pangaea (Eerie-records – The-vox-attitude-remixes) and his latest 12″ “Simmetria Delle Stringhe” (soundcloud.com/marco_shuttle/sets/simmetria-delle-stringhe-eerie) where he’s back to the script with his dark, cinematic techno approach. On top of a productive 2013 came also the very well received remix Shuttle did for Third Side (Analogue Cops + Steffi) on Restoration (clone.nl/item26550.html)
As result of the very international success of his production and the reputation gained by his label he performed as a dj worldwide and especially 2013 saw an increase of bookings from some of the most prestigious clubs and Festivals in the world, like Fabric (London), The Bunker (NY), Smart Bar (Chicago), Batofar (Paris), the Wave Festival (Amsterdam), The Monkey Bar@Moog (Barcelona) the infamous Labyrinth festival in Japan and recently also the revered Berlin techno cathedral Berghain.
2014 is looking very promising already both on the bookings and on the productions side with 2 releases already planned: one on Peter Van Hoesen’s Time To Express label for the end of february and the second one on the newly born label The Bunker New York (named after and run by the prestigious New York techno party) in july…more exciting news TBA! stay tuned!
